Mark Hill born July 27 1967, was raised in a small farming community in the southern most part of Illinois. Raised in a musical family, it was apparent early that he had a gift and quite an ear for music. He Began playing piano at the age of 5 by ear playing melodies verbatim of songs he'd heard in church. At age 11 he found the bass guitar quite by chance and knew in short order that bass was his love. The bass quickly became an extension of him. His early days of playing bass consisted of local recordings and traveling regionally in the midwest with his family. In his early 20's he switched to top 40 bands in the region in order to make a living playing bass all the while knowing that a session career in Nashville was truly what he desired. In 1990 he made the 4 hour move to Nashville and quickly made the producers list of up and coming bass players securing many master recording sessions. In between sessions he toured with artists such as, Steven Curtis Chapman, Martina McBride, Keith Urban (band leader), Reba McEntire to name a few.
